Finished Project

Morning Mist

  • Yarns: dunkelgrün organic merino dk in “silvretta” (lighter color) and “peppermint mouse” (darker color)
  • Needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) Knitpro, but rather 3.75 (US 5) according to my Pony needle gauge.
  • This pattern has no shaping increases or decreases. It’s just constructed of plain rectangles and I think it fits perfectly.
  • Didn’t do a provisional cast on, just a long tail cast on and then picked up the stitches from there.
  • Lace panel: I worked lace only on the RS rows. I described this in detail on my ravelry project page.
  • Icord bind off in the contrasting color, at the bottom hem, sleeves and around the neckline.
  • short rows at the bottom of the back, to make the back slightly longer than the front.

Knitting in Progress

Yakovana

  • Pattern: Dovana by Ysolda Teague – a gorgeous design with cables, texture, stockinette and a lace border.

They also carry other luxury fibers, like qiviut, angora, paco-vicuna… and they work together with indiedyers to create beautiful handdyed color palettes for their yarns.
  • handdyed colorway deep teal
  • needle size: 3.5 mm (US 4) addi bamboo click

modifications:

  • Changed M1 increases at the edges for YO increases.
  • Changed cast on method to a “stockinette tab cast on”.
  • Knitting the edge stitches in stockinette to create a “faux icord”.
details about these mods on my ravelry project page.

Chameleon socks

  • Main Yarn: dunkelgrün classic sock, 75% Merino wool 24 mic, 25% polyamide; colorway Chameleon
  • contrasting yarn – same base – dyed to match
  • Top down vanilla socks with 2×2 ribbed cuffs in contrasting yarn.
  • Needles 2.5 mm (US 1 1/2) addi bamboo fixed circular needle.

Green aviatrix

  • Pattern: Aviatrix hat by Justine Turner
  • Yarn: dunkelgrun organic merino dk – dyed with onion skins and indigo
  • Needles: 3.0 mm (US 2 ½) and 3.5 mm (US 4)
  • Super quick and fun knit – awesome result!
  • Question: how do you weave in the ends at the end of an icord?

Knitting plans: A friend for Unini the unicorn

  • yarn: organic merino dk dyed with acid dyes in rainbow colors to mimick the naturally dyed shades of the original unicorn.

How I knit!

As a middle European of course I am a continental knitter and purler. That means that I hold the yarn with the left hand and use my right hand to guide the right needle to pick the yarn and form the stitches.

Here is the link directly to the clip where I show you how I knit.

The Dunkelgrün Shop Release
