In this episode you can see my naturally dyed rainbow completed by adding blues and greens – dyed with indigo, onion skins and birch leaves – to the spectrum. At this occasion I am also talking a bit about the chemistry behind indigo dyeing!
As usual the episode also features the knitting projects I have been working on, this time with two finished projects and a beautiful summer top that is currently on my needles!

Natural Dyeing
- I used 30 g brown onion skins, and just quickly boiled them in water to extract the dye and was able to dye 700g of yarn.
- The first two skeins of yarn were premordanted with alum, but for all other skeins I added the mordant directly to the dye bath.
